SEO essentials

Metadata, OG images, sitemaps, and robots.txt — handled automatically, tuned by you.

Blog CMS is built to rank. Pages ship as fast static HTML, and a lot of the technical SEO is handled for you — but a few habits make your posts perform even better.

What's automatic

You get these without lifting a finger:

  • Sitemaps — generated and kept up to date on every deploy so search engines can find your posts.
  • robots.txt — published automatically to guide crawlers.
  • OG images — generated for each post so links look great when shared. You can choose the template in your settings.
  • Fast static pages — speed is a ranking factor, and static output keeps pages quick.

AI-assisted metadata

For each post, Blog CMS offers AI-assisted SEO metadata: it can suggest a title tag and meta description based on your content. Treat the suggestions as a strong starting point and tweak them to match your voice and target keywords.

Writing for search

The biggest wins come from the content itself:

  • Use a clear, descriptive title that includes the term people search for.
  • Structure the post with ## and ### headings so it's scannable for readers and crawlers alike.
  • Write a compelling meta description — it's your ad in the search results.
  • Add alt text to every image (see Images and media); it adds context and accessibility.
  • Link between related posts where it's helpful to readers.

Your domain, your authority

Because your blog lives on blog.yoursite.com or yoursite.com/blog, the SEO value accrues to your domain rather than a platform you don't own. Subfolder setups consolidate authority under one hostname, which some teams prefer — see Custom domains.

Keeping it healthy

  • Re-deploy after edits so the sitemap reflects your latest content.
  • Avoid thin, duplicate pages; one strong post beats several weak ones.
  • Fill in metadata before publishing rather than after.

Measuring results

SEO is a long game, so watch the trend, not the day. The built-in, cookieless Analytics shows which posts attract visitors over time, helping you double down on what works.

A quick checklist

  1. Descriptive title with your keyword.
  2. Polished meta description (AI-assisted, then edited).
  3. Headings that structure the post.
  4. Alt text on every image.
  5. Deploy to refresh the sitemap.
